City Government aims to most directly serve the delegates who live alongside each other in the residence halls. Ordiances and bills are passed through the city council.
City Government is the most basic form of government at Buckeye Boys State comprised of elected leaders who live next to you in the residence halls. Every Buckeye Boys State delegates lives in a city and will participate in party caucuses to select City Party nominations. During the caucus process, all delegates will select a City Party Chairman and Secretary to conduct all elections business.
City Government has the elected positions of Mayor, Auditor, Treasurer, Director of Law, Councilman, and City School Board Member. The Mayor appoints a couple of different cabinet positions, Clerk to the Mayor, and Clerk to the Council. City legislation is started in the City Council and often goes through multiple readings before being passed.
