Ordinance 23-01

WHEREAS, This Ordinance shall be known as the Food and Drink Spillage Fine WHEREAS, The City of Vaughan recognizes the need to promote cleanliness and maintain public hygiene within its jurisdiction. In an effort to encourage responsible behavior and reduce hazards caused by food and drink spillages in public spaces. The overall goal of this ordinance is to encourage reusable eating and drinking vessels so that the ecosystem of Vaughan City is kept healthy. WHEREAS, Food and Drink is defined as any edible substance or beverage consumed by an individual. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, It shall be prohibited for any individual to spill food or drink on floor of a public space within the City of Vaughan. Section 1: Violation of this ordinance shall result in a fine payable to the City of Vaughan. Sub Section 1: Fines are as followed First Offense: $100 Second Offense: $200 Third Offense along with subsequent Offenses: A fine of $300 shall be imposed on the offender for each violation. Section 2: This shall take effect at the earliest possible date.
