HB2: Police Fine Reform

HB2: Sponsored by Malachi Bryant and Christian Greene states that when a police officer is found giving an unauthorized fine for a suspect, they shall be fined by more than 50% of what the initial fine was. This law applies to any officers, deputies, or sheriffs. Representative Lambert requested to move this bill into the hands of the local government. Majority Floor Leader Schutte seconded. Representative Legge requested that the bill shall be moved to the Jobs and Infrastructure Committee. Representative Greene seconded. Minority Whip Carlson requested that the bill be moved under the Education, Local Governments, and Urban Affairs Committee. The bill was passed under first consideration.
