HB:4 SECOND CONSIDERATION: The bill stayed the same and no amendments were made but debates were made in favor and against the bill. Representative Vick explained his reasoning for writing the bill. Speaker Pro Tempore Hudson explained what his thoughts were on the bill. The Majority Assistant Whip suggested to split the bill into 2. Assistant Minority Whip Tarantine expressed his confusion of the bill and questioned how the private companies will switch from coal to nuclear power with ease. Speaker Dorris motioned to go to recess at 11:24 AM and to reconvene at 12:30 PM. Representative Riffell was moved. Representative Kennedy seconded. The House reconvened at 11:45 AM and continued discussing the Clean Energy Transformation Bill. Minority Whip Carlson stepped up to the board with permission from Speaker Dorris and drew a diagram for the house. Mr. Tarantine made a motion to table the bill until a later day. Mr. Schutte seconded. The vote went into a roll call vote and resulted in a majority of “aye’s”.
