Strong’s City Council recently had another council meeting in which much business was discussed and approved. First matter was that the City Utility bill of $54,000 was approved and payed for from the city by the city Auditor Zacariah Butler. Second matter is that if someone gets pulled over by the sheriff/police chief and refuses to sign the citation then the sheriff/police chief can take them straight to the Judge. Third matter is there has been a city K-9 unit established of which $84,500 was set aside, immediately active per the City Fire/Police Chief Evan Yost. Lastly, the city Engineer,Aaron Bergstresser, initiated a new form of power in the city called the Solar Field. This sits on a 1/4 acre of land and costed $100,000 to build and will save the city about $7,500 a year; this plant produces 105 megawatts of power per hour. Additionally the Solar Field will have 418 feet of fence surrounding the compound which will cost approximately $13,933 to put in.
